THE BOOK
This book is the story of a flight around the world in a single-engined airplane. The -father-and-son team of Stephan and Nicolas Perren took off on September 27, 2005 on a flight to encircle the globe. At 30 stops along the way they gave scientific lectures on the problems of osteoporotic disease, a rapidly growing hazard which is still too little regarded by today’s society. With their trip they wanted to call attention to this ailment and to gain support for the study of it. The book takes the reader along in text and photos. It is a travelogue, an expedition textbook, a scientific treatise, and a picture album all rolled into one.
